This image depicts the most unusual sunrise light I have ever witnessed. I made the photograph deep within the Needles Range in the Weminuche Wilderness of southwestern Colorado. Not before, nor since, have I witnessed the simultaneous casting of orange light on peaks and pink light on clouds. These are usually two distinct and separate moments, with pink clouds preceding orange light on the landscape. Fourteeners Windom and Sunlight peaks are in the background.
