Other Achievements Founded Westcliffe Publishers in 1982. Publishes exhibit format books featuring photography and writing about the natural and rural environments of America, guide books about hiking America's trails and wilderness lands, and calendars.
Founded in 1996 "Nature Photography is Fun for Kids" in order to teach photography and an appreciation for the natural environment to children.
Helped lead the Responsible Growth Initiative in 2000 in Colorado. An attempt to stop sprawl by changing state land use and planning laws. Was defeated at the ballot.
Hikes and skis 500 miles per year as a nature photographer.
